Order of Business:
We received a check from Kroger's for our participation in the Kroger's Community Rewards Program. Maryan encouraged everyone to get people to sign up. She also suggested setting up a table at Kroger's with some of our historical items on display and using a laptop to help interested customers sign up for the program. Alejandra volunteered her time for this project.
John Moore is working with Deerfield Township on setting up a time that we can tour the King's Mansion and the Peter's Cartridge Factory. We want to take pictures/videos of these historic buildings for our archives.
We discussed possibly having a spring raffle and other money-making ideas. John Moore is negotiating for tickets to the Cincinnati Zoo and also King's Island passes to raffle. Mark Harrison is starting up his art studio again and is, generously, donating a one-of-a-kind sculpture for us to raffle.
We received an email from the Cub Scout leader thanking us for letting them tour our museum and for giving our presentations. We hope to reach out to other groups by establishing an ongoing teaching program.
John Moore suggested the need to re-vamp the main screen on our web site. He said we've only scanned about 5% of our donated items, and there is no room for more links on the left side of the screen. Maryan stressed the importance of keeping up our current site because it is required for our 501-3C status. John has set it up for completing membership applications and paying dues on line.
Jim gave his treasurer's report.
We briefly discussed establishing a newsletter and also discussed historical markers. June Bowman has volunteered to sponsor a marker. John Spicer was chosen to check into getting markers/plaques for our town's historic homes. These markers would not be listed on the historic register, but we could post them on our site as a guide.
We will be renting a shuttle bus and taking our first field trip to Ginger's restaurant some time in the spring.
