We discussed our upcoming tour of the King's mansion that is scheduled for Saturday, January 24 at 10:00 a.m. Our plan is to take photographs for our archives.
Phyllis is going to contact the daughter of Mrs. Hagemeyer who was a member of the King's Civic Club. Mrs. Hagemeyer had extensive documentation on the King's Powder Company, and Phyllis thinks her daughter may still have this information that we could scan for our archives.
Our visitor, John Todd, shared photos he has of the 1959 flood. Willard is going to scan these photos and post them on our site.
Jim gave his treasurer's report.
We discussed taking a field trip to Staley Mill Farm which is located in New Carlisle, Ohio. We would tour the original gristmill that was built in 1818, the distillery that operated during the Civil War, the saw mill which was built in 1820, and the Staley house that has been home to six generations.
We briefly discussed the possibility of applying for a government grant that may help us acquire a museum. John Moore is checking into this.
