Location: SLHS Office
Order of Business:
Maryan set up an account with TSC Apparel. They sell T-shirts and sweatshirts at reasonable prices, but we have to add our logo. She also purchased a wall-mount key cabinet for our new office at the Village Community Center.
Jim gave his financial report.
John discussed upgrading our web site. Because our current SLHS Facebook Administration page is owned by someone else, he is creating a new one.
John is in the process of contacting groups that make donations to non-profit organizations. He said a camera and recording equipment would be a good request because it would benefit our research into documenting our local historians.
Willard asked that we come up with a date to give Ginger so that she can open up the party room of her restaurant for our upcoming field trip. We decided on the dates of April 11th and April 18th for her to choose from.
Maryan suggested that we each join the Warren County Historical Society. Partnering with them would be beneficial to both groups.
Maryan is meeting with Daniel Browning. He has documents/artifacts to donate to the SLHS.
We discussed setting workshop dates to organize our new office space. Willard is donating a table for us to use as a workspace for matting and framing pictures, etc. We also discussed the need to paint the lockers.
John presented a report on our Kroger Rewards Program. We currently have 19 supporters and should receive our next statement toward the end of February. Current supporters will need to re-enroll in April.
We have established a Grants Committee. Our Board of Directors: John Moore, Willard Spicer, Phyllis Anderson, Willie Montgomery, and Nellie Montgomery. John stressed the importance of meeting regularly and establishing a monthly budget with documentation.
Sara Ritter is bringing her Girl Scout Troup to our office on April 13th. We will present our local history and also assist them in earning their Inside Government badges.
